Cookie Notice
Effective date: May 23, 2026
Version: 2026-05-23
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on your device. We use cookies only to operate the Service. We do not use cookies for advertising on signed-in areas of the Service; limited analytics on public marketing pages are described below.
What we use today
| Type | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, security, and short-lived session state needed for the Service to work | Session cookie (signed-in identity, anti-forgery token, the workspace you last switched into, and any pending team-invitation token carried across sign-in or sign-up) |
| Functional | Stand-alone preferences (e.g. theme) | We do not use functional cookies today. |
| Analytics | Understand traffic on public marketing pages and sign-up conversions (page path, referrer, device type, signup form event) | Fathom Analytics on our public marketing pages and sign-up flow — not in the signed-in app or other authentication pages. Fathom is configured not to use advertising cookies; see Privacy Policy. |
| Advertising | None | We do not use advertising cookies. |
The session cookie above is the only persistent client-side storage Knotr writes for core Service operation. We do not use other browser storage mechanisms (such as local or session storage) for authentication or workspace state. Once you sign out (or your session expires), the session cookie and the workspace / invitation state inside it are cleared.
Your choices
Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or using core features. We do not respect a “Do Not Track” signal as a separate setting because we do not run cross-site tracking.
Updates
When we add or remove anything that affects cookies (for example, a new analytics tool or session-storage item), we will refresh the Effective date above and update the table.
