Simple setup

  1. Sign up and create a profile.
  2. Open that profile, go to Integrations, and choose Muse Code.
  3. Add the copied server block to ~/.config/muse/settings.json. The file must set schema_version to 1, under mcp_servers (or mcpServers if that key is already in the file).
  4. Run muse mcp login for that server so Muse Code completes sign-in. Do not paste a token into the file.
  5. In a session, run /mcp to confirm the tools, then ask Muse Code to load your profile.

Common questions

Is this the Muse app?
No. This page is the Muse Code CLI. The Muse app is instructions-only and has its own page.
Do I paste a token into settings.json?
No. The snippet has the server URL only. Sign in with muse mcp login. Muse Code keeps and refreshes the tokens.
Why is the server marked optional?
A required MCP server aborts the whole run if it cannot start, including before you have signed in. Optional skips it with a warning until login succeeds.
Can Muse Code keep work in Knotr?
Yes. Ask it to save the output as an artifact. You get a link you can open later (in the browser, in another tool, or with a teammate) instead of leaving it in the terminal.
Can I present several session outputs together?
Yes. Save each brief or page as an artifact, group them into a Collection, and share the present link instead of handing over a pile of terminal files.
Is Knotr free to start?
Yes. Sign up free with no credit card. After you create a profile, open Integrations and follow the steps for that tool.
